Mark Kostabi was born 1960 and spent his formative years in Richard Nixon's hometown, Whittier, California. He moved to New York in 1982 where his work has since been shown in enough exhibitions to win him the Proliferation Prize awarded by the East Village Eye. His work now hangs in major private and public collections, including the Guggenheim, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art.
